What is Feed Africa?

Feed Africa is Mzanzi Mix's humanitarian initiative to fight hunger across the African continent at scale. Our goal is to source and distribute bulk, fortified maize meal — a nutritious, everyday staple — to reach hundreds of thousands, and ultimately millions, of people facing food insecurity across Africa.

Hunger in Africa is not a small or isolated problem. It affects families, children, and entire communities across many countries on the continent. Feed Africa exists to meet that need with real, consistent, nutritious food, delivered at a scale that can make a lasting difference.

How it works

We are building partnerships with millers and suppliers to source maize meal fortified to recognised health standards, and working alongside established relief and distribution organisations who have the networks and expertise to get food to the communities who need it most, efficiently and accountably.

We are also working to build a partnership with USA for Africa — the organisation founded from the legacy of "We Are the World" — to help extend the reach and impact of this initiative as it grows.

Corporate sponsors and donors fund the initiative, and every contribution goes toward sourcing and distributing real food to real people — no middlemen, no waste.
